Sarcoma & Bone Cancer Awareness
July 1 @ 8:00 am - July 31 @ 5:00 pm
-
July is globally recognized as
Sarcoma and Bone Cancer Awareness Month. In 2026, this awareness initiative begins on Wednesday, July 1, and runs throughout the entire month to highlight these rare but significant “forgotten cancers”.
Key Goals for 2026
- Early Detection Advocacy: Since sarcomas often mimic common injuries or growing pains, the 2026 campaign focuses on educating both the public and GPs to identify symptoms earlier.
- Symbol of Support: The yellow ribbon is the official symbol used throughout July to show solidarity with patients and survivors.
- Understanding Rarity: Sarcomas make up only about 1% of adult cancer diagnoses but account for roughly 15-20% of childhood cancers
