Throughout the entire month\, global attention is focused on Pancreatic\, Lung\, Gastric (Stomach)\, and Neuroendocrine Tumor cancers\, alongside Caregivers Month\, reminding us that cancer affects more than just the patient. \nPancreatic Cancer Awareness Month\nPancreatic cancer is often called a “silent cancer” because its symptoms usually appear late. Many patients are diagnosed when treatment options are limited. November emphasizes the need for greater awareness of early warning signs such as unexplained weight loss\, abdominal pain\, jaundice\, and persistent digestive issues. \nEducation during this month focuses on: \n\n\nRecognizing subtle symptoms early \n\n\nUnderstanding risk factors such as smoking\, diabetes\, and family history \n\n\nEncouraging timely medical evaluation and follow-up \n\n\nLung Cancer Awareness Month\nLung cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths worldwide. While smoking is a major risk factor\, non-smokers can also develop lung cancer\, particularly due to air pollution\, secondhand smoke\, and occupational exposures. \nNovember’s lung cancer awareness efforts highlight: \n\n\nThe importance of quitting smoking and avoiding secondhand smoke \n\n\nEarly symptoms such as chronic cough\, chest pain\, and breathlessness \n\n\nReducing stigma and supporting patients with compassion \n\n\nGastric (Stomach) Cancer Awareness Month\nStomach cancer is still common in many parts of Africa and is often diagnosed late.
